New Leaders Council

About the NYC Chapter

NLC's New York City chapter held its inaugural Institute in 2008. Since then, our chapter has grown into one of the nation’s largest and most diverse. Our core values include a commitment to diverse cohorts, a focus on issues of importance to all of the five boroughs and surrounding counties, and representing marginalized voices from the city and beyond. We are proud advocates of social justice, progressive thought, and inspired leadership, both within our communities and within NLC’s national community.

In addition to our work in the city, NLC NYC is a progressive force on a nationwide scale. On top of our robust fundraising efforts each year, other regional chapters have been started by NYC alums while many others have gone on to advocate, lead and grow in the fields of government, education, healthcare, and business nationwide.
